VIJFF 2021
Common joys and Shared Experiences!
In the spring of 2021, the VIJFF presented a streamed Feel-Good Film Festival which screened comedies & feel-good films, and which featured live-streamed music & stand-up comedy. In the fall of 2021, the VIJFF’s main hybrid festival presented poignant films and live-streamed conversations with filmmakers. The well-attended festival’s opening and closing night at the Vic Theatre also featured live jazz performances and nosh boxes with Middle Eastern and Jewish snacks specially prepared by local Palestinian chef Yousef Kayal.

VIJFF 2022
For its 8th year, each screening in the 2022 VIJFF will be a special (and free) event—with live music and nosh (snacks) complementing each film! Running live at the Vic Theatre and online, from Tuesday, November 1st, to Sunday, November 6th, the VIJFF is planning a fun, engaging festival. Leveraging its cross-cultural foundations, the 2022 VIJFF will again attract diverse audiences, not least of which cinephiles! Stay tuned for more information!

Principles
01
INTER-CULTURAL CONNECTIONS
To build connections among cultures and communities through the universality of cinema, by presenting films featuring Jewish and Jewish-adjacent themes that are less broadly available.
02
DIVERSITY AND ITS INTERSECTIONS
To broaden awareness of cultural diversity and its intersections with Jewish culture, by programming films that transcend particular people, places, and politics by conveying universal themes, shared values, and common ground.
03
CINEMA AESTHETICS6>
To enhance an appreciation of film artistry and cinematic communication, by celebrating films, their creators, and their diversity of genres and viewpoints on complex subject matter.
Donate to Sustain the VIJFF!
Donations help sustain the VIJFF beyond ticket sales and grants. Donations to the VIJFF of $36 or more receive a charitable tax receipt. Be a VIJFF ‘movie lover’: Those who graciously donate $150 or more will be treated to front-of-line access to films and pre-show access to food, folks, and fun at the VIJFF’s Sunday afternoon ‘movie lovers lounge’!
